Did anyone actually stay behind at the Dalston Argos rave when the Met invoked Section 63?
Did anyone catch the fallout from the rave inside that abandoned Argos on Sandringham Road in Dalston? The Met turned up around mid-morning after locals complained, used a Section 63 order to seize a massive stack of sound equipment, and ordered about 20 people to clear out. What’s wild is the Inspector explicitly stated that several people inside were protected by legacy “Squatters’ Rights,” so they actually let them stay in the building legally while only dispersing the ravers. For the crews running things: how airtight are squatters’ rights when a UME is actively running inside? Does having a legal squatter on the lease actually prevent the police from locking the doors, or is the sound system always a guaranteed loss?
